Compassionate Hope Counseling...

offers a wide range of therapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults, and families.  The center, located in Lodi, California, was founded by seasoned therapist Angela Anderson; who specializes in trauma recovery, grief and loss, children of divorce, child-parent attachment, depression and anxiety.

The mission of Compassionate Counseling is to provide hope and effective counseling that encourages clients to explore, develop and realize their therapeutic goals in a safe and supportive environment.

We are dedicated to helping children, teens and adults who are suffering from debilitating symptoms associated with traumatic experiences.  We use a blend of therapeutic approaches (psychotherapy, EMDR, Brainspotting, art therapy, sandtray therapy) to provide the most helpful therapy techniques for each client.

We provide counseling in the office or video conferencing using SimplePractice.

Angela Anderson

I am passionate about providing effective counseling with compassion; and creating a welcoming, safe, peaceful, and empowering space where you can share your story without judgment, heal from past hurts, and create a more joyful and meaningful life.

Angela Anerson

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Art Therapist.  I have been providing counseling since 2008 with children, teens, adults, seniors, couples and families struggling with a wide variety of issues.  I especially have a heart for individuals who have experienced trauma and desire to help them grow from being a victim to survivor to thriver - living fully and abundantly.

Clients say that I am gentle in challenging them, in providing helpful feedback, and in empowering them to make positive changes. I feel honored and privileged that clients feel comfortable and safe to share experiences and concerns with me that they have never shared with anyone else, even events that happened over 50 years ago.   Just sharing thoughts and feelings that have been held in can provide a sense of relief and healing.

I use a blend of traditional psychotherapy, EMDR and nonverbal approaches to provide the most helpful therapy techniques for each client.   I find nonverbal techniques like art therapy and sandtray to be very helpful when clients are struggling to express their thoughts and emotions.

I am interested in more that just relieving your symptoms; I’m also interested in helping you find the source of your distress; helping you make lasting changes and find true healing.

I earned my master’s degree from Notre Dame de Namur in Marriage and Family Therapy with a concentration in Art Therapy.  And my bachelor's is in Child Development from California State University, Sacramento; I find this helpful even working with adults because we all were children once.   I have also been trained in EMDR.
